House - Spring - Spring 2019

For over 65 years, Lakes Athletics has helped children from ages 5 to 18 years old. Players have been taught fundamentals and rules while having fun in a team environment. House teams will play at Hickory Glen Park and Shepherd of the Lakes Church. Hickory Glen Park is located on Glengary between South Commerce and Benstein. Shepherd of the Lakes Church is located on South Commerce between Glengary and Oakley Park. 

Spring Baseball at Lakes Athletics is always about teamwork, baseball knowledge and player development in a family atmosphere. Lakes Athletics at Hickory Glen Park has a concession stand and clean bathrooms at our field house with portable bathrooms throughout the park. We have 7 clean baseball fields that are attended to before and after events. Lakes Athletics has also recently installed a batting cage with 3 separated tunnels for hitting and pitching. A playground area for families to play at before, during and even after events. All of Lakes Athletics age groups are designed for fun, awareness and progression.

Teams are assigned in mid-March (TBall in early April) and practices starting in late March / early April (TBall mid to late April). Practice dates and times are assigned by the team's manager. Games are played on Monday and Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings. There are 2 games a week. There will be NO games on America's Holiday Memorial Day or on the Monday celebrating Memorial Day.

When completing your registration, remember that Jersey sizes are for the player. There is an option to purchase an additional sweatshirt during registration, so please be aware of the options you select during registration.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • When do practices start?: Practices start in late March after teams have been assigned (TBall starts in April).
  • When are games?: Games begin on April 20th (TBall games start May 4th). Games are played Monday and Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings. There are normally 2 games per week (1 Mon/Wed night, and 1 Saturday).
  • How do I request specific placement?: Player placement is done by the School and Major Crossroads first and foremost. Lakes goal is to keep kids in the same neighborhood on the same team. Special placement requests MAY NOT BE HONORED.
  • Any Late Registration Penalty?: There is a late registration fee added to any registration after the deadline. Late registrations will be placed on a team with the least number of players, placement requests are not honored.
  • Can my child play for a different age?: Due to insurance and legal reasons, Lakes does it's best to ensure that players play in their proper age divisions. Skilled players can play up a division, but playing down is not allowed.

  • What's included with the jersey?: Registration includes a jersey shirt, baseball cap, pants, socks and belt (Belt not included for TBall). Hooded sweatshirts can be purchased as add-ons during registration.
  • How are jersey corrections made?: During registration you select the size for pants and jersey shirt your player. For sizes chosen incorrectly by registrant there is a $20 replacement fee.
  • How do the raffle tickets work?: As part of your registration, you are pre-paying for 10 raffle tickets that can be sold for $5 each. The money collected is yours to keep and does not need to be turned into the league.
  • What are the TBall rules?: Rule Highlights: - players hit off a tee and progress to coach pitch - fundamental infield, throwing and hitting taught - coaches in field for instruction
  • What are the 8U rules?: Rule Highlights: - 1/2 game coach pitch, 1/2 game player pitch - no stealing - 3 out innings - 10 players in field - coaches in field for instruction
  • What are the 10U rules?: Rule Highlights: - all player pitch - stealing when ball crosses plate (no lead-offs) - 9 players in the field - no coaches in the field
  • What are the 12U/14U rules?: Rule Highlights: - all player pitch - stealing with lead-offs - full baseball rules
  • Why is 16U so much less cost?: The fee for 16U is to hold your spot on the roster. The 16U season occurs during the summer months of July and August. The fee is to simply hold your place on the team, the full amount is due later.
  • What are the birthdates for divisions?: 6U: 5/1/2012 - 4/30/2014 8U: 5/1/2010 - 4/30/2012 10U: 5/1/2008 - 4/30/2010 12U: 5/1/2006 - 4/30/2008 14U: 5/1/2004 - 4/30/2006 16U: 5/1/2002 - 4/30/2005

Hooded sweatshirt that will match the color and number on the player's jersey. Logo will be solid white. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to go up 1 size for the sweatshirt that was selected for the players jersey. The front of the sweatshirt will display the Lakes Athletics Logo, the back will have their number.
