NEW for 2025: Lakes Spring Training

Get out of the cold and snow and dust off your mitt. Introducing 2025 Lakes Spring Training, a new opportunity for our house players age 4 to 8 to sharpen their skills and get back into the swing of baseball before the Lakes spring season begins in early April. Lakes Spring Training, held at On The Dunes in Commerce, will be a station based fundamental program where children will move to different stations with a focus on fielding, hitting and throwing for 90 minutes a week. The stations will be run by Lakes volunteer coaches from the 5U, 6U, 7U and 8U levels including some of your children's favorite coaches. 

With only 4 training sessions, space is limited. Each registration is separate, sign up for one or all four! Each week's registration also comes with a Lakes t-shirt that is perfect for wearing to practices during the upcoming Lakes season! 

Coaches will include Jake Withrow, Frank Novak, Brian Paruch, and Travis Pennington

2025 Lakes Spring Baseball

Join us for what promises to be one of the best spring seasons in Lakes history.

Teams will be assigned in late March and practices will begin in early April. Practice dates and times are at the discretion of the team's coach/manager. All players registered will also be invited to our preseason spring kickoff event at D-Bat Troy on Sunday, April 6th. 

Games begin in mid-April.  There are 2 games per week.

5U and 6U will typically play games Friday evenings AND Saturdays; 8U will play most games on Friday evenings and Saturdays but could occasionally have games on Wednesday evenings. 10U,12U,14U, 16U will typically play Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.* 
There will be NO games over the Memorial Day weekend.

The 2025 Lakes Spring Season will also include All-Star Games at most levels and playoffs at most levels 8U and above. 

When completing your registration, remember that Jersey sizes are for the player. This year players will receive a jersey and hat. We will NOT be supplying pants with registration. We will have pants and sweatshirts available in our store (not at the time of registration). Pants can also be obtained during our Dick's Sporting Goods 20% off weekend (coupon to be provided at a later time). 

This year we will not be doing a 50/50 drawing.

Lakes Baseball Summer Camp with Coach Mark Avery - Summer 2025

ANOTHER NEW ADDITION FOR 2025! Join professional coach Mark Avery and his team for the first ever Lakes Baseball Summer Camp at Hickory Glen Park. Coach Avery, training baseball players at all levels for over 30 years, played professional baseball and served as the Detroit Tigers bullpen catcher. Mark was also a minor league all-star twice and has coached several players who have been drafted by professional baseball teams and received collegiate scholarships. He also led the popular Player Development Clinics for Lakes this past winter. 

This camp will run from 9 AM to 3 PM June 23rd to 26th on the Hickory Glen fields. The schedule daily will be as follows:

- 9 AM to 12 Noon - Basic skills, baserunning, all positions

- 12 Noon to 12:30 - LUNCH

- 12:30 to 3 PM - Fundamentals of games, techniques of hitting

Campers will need to bring sack lunch, fielders glove, bats, batting gloves, helmets, cleats, water bottle and sunscreen. Catchers gear if needed. Plan to get dozens of swings and field tons of ground balls. 

This camp is open to players ages 7 through 12 (age as of June 23rd, first day of camp).
**Exceptions to the age requirement can be made for players enrolled in Lakes' 7U or 8U summer baseball program by contacting Lakes directly at registration@lakesathletics.org. 

Registration fee: $260 (regular) $265 (late)

*No camp on Friday, June 27th unless needed as rain date.

2025 Lakes Summer Baseball

Join us for what promises to be one of the best summer seasons in Lakes history.

NEW for 2025- additional levels, 8U and 10U will be offered. Similar to our spring and fall seasons, these summer offerings will allow kids to gain additional reps in the player pitch/coach pitch level (8U) as well as the 10U player pitch level. In addition, we will offer a 5U tee-ball (3.5 to 5 year olds), a 6U tee-ball/coach pitch combo, and a 7U advanced coach pitch level that is exclusive to our summer program and is designed specifically to be a bridge from 6U spring baseball and 8U fall baseball. 

Games will begin Wednesday, July 9th. Teams may have a few practices before that at the coach's discretion. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings with Thursday being used as a rain date. No weekend games will be played and no weekend practices scheduled so families can enjoy summer weekends. The summer season will include nine games. 

Your registration will provide hats and shirts only. We will NOT be supplying pants with registration. We will have pants and sweatshirts available in our store (not at the time of registration).

2025 Lakes Player Development Clinics - Winter I 2025

NEW FOR 2025! Join coach Mark Avery for these four-week skill based player development clinics designed to take your child's skill set to the next level. Coach Avery played Division II collegiate baseball for Wayne State University for four years, finishing his degree in Mechanical Engineering and earned an opportunity to be signed by the Detroit Tigers in 1993 as a professional baseball player. His minor league career spanned three years. Mark has coached nearly 30 years.

Hitting Clinics: Four-week program. Session one will run on Sundays, 1/26, 2/2, 2/16, and 2/23 from 2:30-3:30 PM and session two will run Sundays on 3/9. 3/16. 3/23 and 3/30.

Pitching Clinics: Four-week program. Session one will run on Sundays, 1/26, 2/2, 2/16, and 2/23 from 3:30-5 PM and session two will run Sundays on 3/9. 3/16. 3/23 and 3/30.

Both clinics will occur at the Elite Sportsplex in Waterford. Age groups 8-12 (age as of 5/1/25)**. Open to players enrolled in a Lakes 2025 program only (house or LCB Legends).

**Exceptions to this age restriction can be made for children enrolled in an 8U house or travel program this spring. Contact us at registration@lakesathetics.org
