2024 Lakes Athletics Baseball Age Brackets

Figuring out which division to register your baseball player can be hard and confusing. To help alleviate some of the confusion, Lakes Athletics has put the following chart together to help decipher baseball division registration. During the registration process, you cannot select a baseball division outside of your player's birthdate. If you wish to have your player move to a different division, you must use the contact us page and let us know your wishes. Only players who have sign off from a previous coach can play outside of their age's division.

5U - TBall (ages 4 yrs - 5 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2018 - 04/30/2020

TBall division is 3 innings of TBall. All players will bat in each inning. If a player is called out due to a play in the field, the player should return to the bench. Regardless of 3 outs being achieved, all players bat each inning. There are no strikeouts in this division.

6U - Coach Pitch / TBall (ages 5 yrs - 6 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2017 - 04/30/2019

Coach pitch division is focused on having players hit off coach pitch. In the case when a player cannot hit a coach thrown ball after 5 attempts, the player will have the opportunity to hit off a tee. If a player is called out due to a play in the field, the player should return to the bench. Regardless of 3 outs being achieved, all players bat each inning. There are no strikeouts in this division.

8U - Player / Coach Pitch (ages 7 yrs - 8 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2015 - 04/30/2017

Player / Coach Pitch is focused on 3 innings of player pitch, and 3 innings of coach pitch. During player pitch innings, if a pitcher throws 4 balls -- aka: walks the batter -- the coach will finish pitching the at bat to the batter. Batters can be called out on strikes. Innings will consist of 3 outs or a run mercy. 

10U - Player Pitch Limited Stealing (ages 9 yrs - 10 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2013 - 04/30/2015

Players will pitch all innings of the game and will not be replaced to have a coach pitch at any time. Runners can steal once the ball crosses the plate. Innings will consist of 3 outs or a run mercy.

12U - Full Baseball (ages 11 yrs - 12 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2011 - 04/30/2013

Players will pitch all innings of the game. Runners can lead off prior to the pitcher throwing a pitch and can steal at any time. Innings will consist of 3 outs or a run mercy.

14U - Full Baseball (ages 13 yrs - 14 yrs)
players born between 05/01/2009 - 04/30/2011

Players will pitch all innings of the game. Runners can lead off prior to the pitcher throwing a pitch and can steal at any time. Innings will consist of 3 outs or a run mercy.
